Privacy Policy
Last updated: [FLAG: insert launch date]
This is the privacy policy for the interview practice service offered in India by LithiumQ [FLAG: full legal name, e.g., LithiumQ Technologies Pvt Ltd] (“LithiumQ”, “we”, “us”). The service is powered by Roleshift — a role-play platform for workplace conversations, operated by Roleshift LLC, a Texas company — under a licence from Roleshift LLC to LithiumQ.
This policy covers what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. If anything here isn’t clear, write to [FLAG: privacy contact email].
Who you are dealing with
When you sign up, pay, or use the service in India, your contract is with LithiumQ. LithiumQ is the data fiduciary under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP-Act) — the company responsible for your personal data.
Roleshift LLC provides the technology platform, AI models, and infrastructure that the service runs on. Roleshift LLC processes your personal data on LithiumQ’s behalf under a data-processing agreement between the two companies.
What we collect
Account information. Your email, your name if you provide it, and authentication state needed to keep you signed in.
Things you upload or create. Resumes you upload, the structured data we derive from them, your fit-score results, and your practice interview sessions — including transcripts and, if you opt in to record a session, the audio and video.
Billing information. Identifiers from our payment processor that let us recognise you across billing events, plus invoice records. We do not store card numbers, CVV, or other payment instrument data.
Member Org membership. If you belong to a partner institute, we store that fact and when it was granted or revoked. The institute provides this; you don’t enter it.
Usage and operational data. Counts of how much of the service you’ve used (for plan limits), and standard web server logs.
What we don’t collect. Card numbers; microphone or camera input outside a session you’ve opted to record; your activity outside the service; your precise location; or your contacts, calendar, or files outside what you upload.
How we use it
We use your data to run the service for you, bill you, investigate abuse and keep the service secure, and comply with Indian law. We don’t sell your data. We don’t share it with employers or recruiters. We don’t use your content to train AI models, and our AI providers don’t either.
How AI is involved
The service is AI-driven. To produce scores, feedback, transcripts, and interview content, the Roleshift platform sends your resume content and the position you’re practising against to large language models operated by third-party providers, using their standard commercial APIs. Under those providers’ commercial terms, your inputs are not used to train their models.
The set of AI providers may change over time. We will provide the current list on request — write to [FLAG: privacy contact email].
When voice and video sessions go live, audio and video may also be processed by speech and transcription providers selected on the same basis.
Where your data lives
The service uses third-party infrastructure and AI providers in India, the United States, and other countries. In particular:
- Some of your data is stored on infrastructure in India.
- Some of your data — including session recordings and data processed by Roleshift LLC’s platform — is processed in or transferred to the United States.
- AI providers process your data in the regions they operate.
By using the service you understand that your personal data may be transferred to and processed in those countries. The DPDP-Act currently permits transfer of personal data outside India except to countries the Indian government specifically restricts.
Who else sees your data
We use third-party providers (“sub-processors”) to host, transmit, and process your data — including our cloud infrastructure, payments processor, sign-in provider, AI providers, and Roleshift LLC as the underlying technology provider. We will provide the current list on request — write to [FLAG: privacy contact email].
We do not share your data with employers, recruiters, advertisers, or Member Orgs.
How long we keep things
How long we keep your content depends on your plan. Your account page shows the current windows.
- Free and Starter plans retain your resumes, session content (including recordings), and ATS results for a limited period; older items are deleted automatically.
- Pro retains them for as long as your account is active.
- Your account itself remains until you delete it.
- Billing records are kept for as long as Indian financial and tax law require.
- Web server logs are kept for a short period for security and abuse purposes.
When you delete your account, we delete your resumes, derived data, session content (including recordings), and fit-score results from our active systems, and instruct Roleshift LLC and other sub-processors to do the same. Billing records are retained for as long as Indian law requires, then deleted.
Your rights under the DPDP-Act
You have the following rights over your personal data:
- Access a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Erase your data by deleting your account.
- Withdraw consent to processing (functionally the same as deletion).
- Nominate someone to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity.
To exercise any of these, write to [FLAG: privacy contact email]. We will respond within the time required by law.
Grievance redressal. If you have a complaint about how we handle your personal data, write to our Grievance Officer at [FLAG: grievance contact email]. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies — those strictly necessary to keep you signed in, and limited first-party analytics to understand which features are used. We don’t use cookies for advertising and don’t allow third-party advertising cookies on the site. For details, see /cookies.
Children
The service is not intended for anyone under 18, and we don’t knowingly collect data from minors.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your data — encrypted transport, encryption at rest, access controls, and audited deployments. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data we will notify you and the relevant regulators as required by law.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change. The Last updated date at the top reflects the most recent change. For material changes we will notify you by email before they take effect.
